Google Pixel 6 Specs, Price, Colors & More

Google Pixel smartphones are always the most leaked device in the industry before their launch, the Pixel 6 series is definitely no exception to that. The series consists of two models: Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro. With leaks all over the web, we are summarizing the most important features for you.

Design & Display

The design is probably the most interesting part of the new device, Google has really not disappointed users this time. There are no more basic designs that were a known characteristic of Pixel phones, this time the Pixel 6 series has got a complete makeup.

Their camera has now a horizontal module at the rear spanning across the entire width of the phone and divides the device into two sections, with different colors each. The shapes became stronger too, with both the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro being rectangular. The phones keep the accented power button for an additional character.

On the front, we find a massive 6.71-inch display on the Pixel 6 Pro, while the Pixel 6 has gone for a smaller 6.4-inches. The bottom bezels are thicker than the previous year Pixel 5 though we can find a higher pixel density 120Hz display with a resolution of 1440×3120, at least on the Pixel 6 Pro. The Pixel 6 probably will retain last year’s display specs – 90Hz refresh rate, 1080×2340 resolution, and support for HDR10+.

Cameras on the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro

The Google Pixels are well known for their camera features and that they capture the most detailed shots in the industry, but by using simplistic camera hardware. However, the Pixels have been overtaken by the competition thanks to the usage of outdated camera hardware.

The Pixel 6 series is estimated to change this by making use of a 50MP GN1 sensor for the primary camera and complemented with 12MP IMX386 ultrawide and IMX586 4x telephoto cameras. Finally, at the front-facing camera, we will find an upgrade to a 12MP Sony IMX663 sensor from the 8MP shooters in past Pixels.

Other Specifications

The most innovating component of the Pixel 6 series will be its processor, probably by the use of an in-house high-end and AI-supported chipset called Tensor developed jointly by Samsung and Google.

The Pixel 6 series will have an in-display fingerprint scanner for the first time ever. The devices will carry the Samsung’s Exynos 5123 5G modem and will likely feature ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, they will support 33W wired fast-charging and 23W wireless charging.

Software & Release Date

The Google Pixels will be changing to an Android 12 UI. The upcoming Android version will be bringing along the biggest Android upgrade in years, and another first-timer with the Pixel 6 series is that they may receive software support for at least 5 years. The release will be probably in October.

Storage & Color Variants

The color options will include all-black, sage green, lime green, and pale orange. The top section of the phone will have a slightly darker tone. As for the Pixel 6 Pro, it will be coming in all-black, sand, and silver.

Rumored storage options for the Pixel 6 are 128GB and 256GB paired with 8GB RAM, while Pixel 6 Pro will be getting 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB paired with 12GB RAM.
