According to Ross Young, CEO of research company Display Supply Chain Consultants and a well-known industry insider, the future Pixel Fold and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will have a common feature: their internal screen. According to his understanding, both smartphones from Google and Samsung will have an internal screen of comparable size, but this will not prevent the devices from being significantly different.

Indeed, despite their internal screen being the same, their exterior screen will not give the same ratio. As earlier reports have revealed, the Google Pixel Fold would be smaller than Samsung’s famous smartphone. We would be closer to the 8.4:9 ratio of the Oppo Find N than the rectangular 22.5:18 ratio of the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

According to Ross Young, the Pixel Fold will employ a 5.8-inch external display, while the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will provide a 6.19-inch display. Since the smartphones share the same internal display, it implies the Pixel Fold will be substantially larger than the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which will maintain the elongated design of its predecessor.

Z Fold 4 and Google foldable will have similar sized foldable displays, but the Google cover display will be quite a bit smaller at 5.8″. This should mean it will have a wider aspect ratio than the Samsung 6.19″ Fold 4. Hear more at our conference next week.

The Google Pixel might thus be more practical when it comes to watching multimedia material or typing on the virtual keyboard of the screen. However, the smartphone’s bigger screen may make it more difficult to grip when folded.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 may very well have the finest grip this year. Indeed, the smartphone would be far smaller and lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 3 that will be released in 2021. Samsung currently has extensive expertise in this industry and is constantly improving its foldable smartphones, while its main competitors are attempting to break into the market with more or less successful products. Samsung is also apparently considering further price reductions for its foldable handsets, which might be a source of concern for its rivals.

Samsung may employ batteries from Amperex Technology Limited (ATL) in its future foldable devices, according to recent rumors.

This firm is well-known for the fact that their batteries were utilized in the Galaxy Note7, which, as we recall, had a very explosive nature. Samsung initially utilized ATL batteries.

It can now utilize them in foldable cell phones for the first time. True, ATL components have been used in several models of the Galaxy A and Galaxy M lines for several years, and they were also utilized in the Galaxy S21 last year, so it’s definitely not worth discussing such potential issues in advance. Additionally, ATL supplied Apple with items.

At the moment, Samsung utilizes its own batteries made by Samsung SDI in all Galaxy Z versions. By incorporating ATL into the supply chain, the firm will be able to diversify its supply chain and cut costs.
