Google made kid’s profiles official for Google TV this week. Though it has been in beta since February, it became official a couple of days ago, and kids across the country are going to love it when they see what’s inside.
Think of the new kids profiles as somewhat extracted from Google TV experiences, but with access limited solely to apps and content picked up for underage users. Google is also enhancing up the UI a bit with custom themes (Space, Dinosaurs, Series), that we adults won’t get.
Kid controls will be available to parents who want to limit if necessary such as content, the time limit for usage, as well as a strict bedtime where the device will cease function.
Google says support for kids profiles will begin rolling out this month in the US, followed by all over the world later down the road
