For those who have been following technological improvements, the new handset isn't very stunning. For example, the gadget is powered by an ancient Helio and runs an out-of-date version of . Anyway, let's see what this gizmo is capable of.

OPPO A16E SPECS

The Oppo A16e has a 6.52-inch LCD screen with a 1,600 x 720- HD+ resolution. Unfortunately, the inexpensive phone only has a refresh rate of 60 Hz. After all, the chipset within can't take much more. The screen includes a waterdrop notch cutout and a maximum brightness of 480 nits. One intriguing feature is the existence of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 scratch resistance. Although this is a low-cost smartphone, the screen-to-body ratio of 89 percent is extremely good. However, the somewhat large bottom chin is seen here.

The waterdrop notch houses a 5 MP camera with an aperture of f/2.4. Surprisingly, this is one of the few smartphones on the market with only one camera. This definitely indicates that the Oppo A16e is aimed at the super-budget market, which includes smartphones such as the Galaxy A0 and Core series. It has a single 13-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 lens and an LED flash.

Don't hold your breath if you're interested in the performance. The phone is powered by the super-old MediaTek Helio P22 SoC. The Oppo A16e is available in 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of Internal Storage and 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of Internal Storage configurations. The phone, as usual, contains a micro SD card slot for further memory expansion. The Oppo A16e has a reasonably large 4,230 mAh battery, but considering the old chipset, we don't anticipate it to last very long. It will also take some time to charge because it utilizes the outdated micro USB connector. The phone also comes with Color OS 11.1 on top of Android 11. Given the characteristics, we doubt this phone will ever receive an upgrade.

In any case, it's a bundle for customers who just want a functional smartphone for non-demanding applications. You may want to explore utilizing some Go or Lite programs for improved performance.

The phone is available in three colors: black, blue, and white. The pricing and availability, however, have yet to be announced.
