Redmi K40 Gets A Dual Hi-res Gold Certification

Over the past weeks, Redmi has been teasing new features of the new Redmi k40 series. In a recent teaser, the company revealed this device supports Dolby Atmos which can eliminate crosstalk and simulate spatial surround sound effects. The last teaser on this device shows that it has a new Hi-Res high-resolution wireless audio certification.

A Hi-Res certification is usually found only in HiFi headsets and music players. The standard stipulates that the indicators of audio files need to exceed CD sound quality, such as 24bit/192kHz and that the parameters of audio playback devices also need to meet certain requirements.

The Hi-Res certification is issued by the Japan Audio Association JAS to get one the device needs to support LDAC or LHDC protocol to obtain the gold standard of Hi-Res wireless audio.

 The Hi-Res certification official website shows that two models (K11 and K11A) from have been certified in January 2021. Doing the maths it seems these two models are the Redmi K40 series.

From the listing information, the Redmi K40 series will have the following dimensions 163.7 × 76.4 × 7.8 mm and its thickness is 7.8 mm. This device will also come with a 4,500 mAh battery and powered by a Snapdragon 888 processor.

The price tag is estimated at around USD$ 450. According to the leaked reports, this price will be for the premium version and there will be three models. 

According to the previous, the top version will use a 108MP main camera. and will have the most expensive straight screen in the industry with a 6.81-inch display with a resolution of 3200 x 1440 (2K).
