Samsung will release the Galaxy S22 series in the second week of February. This series will have three high-end flagships including the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. The major specs of this series have been public knowledge for a while, so let’s remake a comparison between these three smartphones
SAMSUNG GALAXY S22: “COMPACT” HIGH-END SMARTPHONE
The Samsung Galaxy S22 5G is the newest entry into the S-series smartphone group. It has a compact 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. This display has a maximum brightness of 1500 nits and is protected with the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 or Exynos 2200 SoC depending on what region of the world you are located in. Both processors are octa-core 4nm flagship chips.
This device also arrives with AMD RDNA 2 graphics, 8 GB RAM, and with either 128 GB / 256 GB flash memory. The wireless connections include Wi-Fi 6 (WLAN-ax), Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and 5G.
On the camera side, the new Samsung Galaxy S22 comes with a triple rear camera. A 50-megapixel sensor with wide-angle, 12-megapixel sensor ultra-wide-angle camera, and 10-megapixel telephoto photos with an optical zoom of up to 3x. The device includes a 3700 mAh battery that can be charged via USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 or wirelessly and an on-screen ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The Samsung Galaxy S22 weighs only 167 grams supports IP68 water and is dustproof. It will be available in black, white, green, and pink gold color options. All models of the S22 series will come with Samsung One UI 4.1 on top of Android 12. The tag price is estimated at USD 900 in Europe for the 128 GB model and USD 1100 for the 256 GB model.
SAMSUNG GALAXY S22+
The Samsung Galaxy S22+ 5G, differs from the Galaxy S22 primarily in terms of its size. The “Dynamic AMOLED 2X” display is about 6.6 inches but it has the same resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. In this model, the maximum brightness of the touchscreen increases to 1750 nits. The processor, RAM, and storage options are the same as the Galaxy S22 as well as the camera specifications.

This device also arrives with Wi-Fi 6 (WLAN-ax), Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and 5G. It supports IP68 water and is dustproof just like the S22. In this model the battery capacity increases to 4500 mAh, and the weight increases accordingly to 196 grams.

SAMSUNG GALAXY S22 ULTRA: WITH S-PEN AND A 6.8 INCHES DISPLAY
The new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra stands out from its smaller companies with an angular Infinity-O Edge design curved towards the long sides. It is the top model of the series and uses a 6.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 3080 x 1440 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It has also a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, with maximum brightness is 1750 nits.
The smartphone has both the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 and Exynos 2200 versions. The device arrives with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB of internal storage and with a quad rear camera system. It supports a retractable S-Pen. The camera front uses a 108-megapixels wide-angle sensor, 12-megapixels ultra-wide-angle camera, and two 10-megapixel lenses for telephoto photos. The single camera on the front is a 40-megapixels shooter.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 5000 mAh battery and has the same connectivity options as the rest of the series. This device also arrives with an on-screen fingerprint sensor.
It will be available in black, white, green, and burgundy colors. The price of this device is USD 1400 for the 8GB/128GB model, USD 1500 for the 12GB/256GB model, and USDD 1650 euros 12GB/512 GB model.
