Last December, Qualcomm released the latest generation flagship SoC, Snapdragon 888. This chip uses Samsung’s 5nm processor and a 1+3+4 design architecture. The chip comes with one Cortex X1 super-large core, three A78 cores, four A55 small cores. The GPU is Adreno 660. Like most Snapdragon flagships, the Snapdragon 888 became the choice flagship chip for many of the manufacturers in 2021. At the present, there are more than 30 Snapdragon 888 processor models in the market. All these smartphones come with fast charging technology from 25W to 120W depending on who is the manufacturer.


All these models cover a wide range of devices types for all purposes from gaming devices to foldable smartphones and even on other regular flagships. The price range for these smartphones ranges from USD 300 to USD 1600.  On the list below you’ll find a summary of the best Snapdragon 888 models and the fast charging technology that they have. LENOVO LEGION 2 PRO

Lenovo Legion 2 Pro is a device specially enhanced for games. It has 4 dual-row shoulder buttons + 2 back capacitive buttons, it has built-in two turbofans for active cooling, a central architecture design, and two USB-C ports. It uses a 6.92-inch Samsung AMOLED straight screen with a refresh rate of 144Hz refresh rate and a screen resolution is 2460 x 1080. This smartphone has a pop-up front camera and a dual rear camera setup. It uses a 64MP outsole main camera and a 16MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. The chip powering the device is the Snapdragon 888 + LPDDR5 + UFS3.1.

NUBIAN RED DEVILS 6R

The Nubia Red Magic 6R is yet another gaming phone with the design of a regular smartphone. The VIVO X60 Pro+ is a video flagship specially created and designed by VIVO and Zeiss. It has a 6.56-inch micro-curved screen with a resolution of 2376 x 1080 and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Vivo and Zeiss developed in partnership the dual main camera with a super-sensitivity gimbal. It provides a greater anti-shake effect with optical image stabilization. The ROG phone 5 uses a 6.78-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED straight screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2448 x 1080. This smartphone comes with 2×2 ultrasonic shoulder buttons. It uses a 64MP Sony IMX686 main camera as well as a 13MP super wide-angle sensor and a 5MP macro lens. It is powered by the Snapdragon 888 + LPDDR5 + UFS3.1 configuration.

OUR CONCLUSION

From the 26 models brought in this review, 15 devices have a single battery design, and 11 devices have a dual battery design. There are seven models with a battery capacity of more than 5000mAh and four of those devices support 120W ultra-high-power fast charging.

The high power level is between 55W and 70W. You can find 14 models that give us a full charge in half an hour or less and that’s really impressive, there are not many fast charging models below 40W.

The fast charging performance had a quick evolution in the past few years. The power is comparable to that of a regular notebook and there is no more need to plug in a cable to charge.
