According to CINNO Research’s most recent research, LTPO technology is projected to become standard in high-end mobile phones. In addition, OLED smartphone penetration in the Chinese market is predicted to reach 43% by 2025. This is critical, yet most users will be unfamiliar with these words. They may not even realize whether or not their cellphones employ these technologies.
Apple introduced LTPO technology to the iPhone last year. It was so well received that several Android smartphone manufacturers opted to develop their own versions with LPTO displays. This technology is now being used by an increasing number of Android smartphone OEMs, boosting its penetration rate within the Android camp.
LTPO is an acronym for Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide. For small-size OLEDs, the two major backplane technologies are LTPS and IGZO, with LTPO being able to produce a broad variety of dynamic refresh rates. To put it another way, it combines the benefits of both LTPS and IGZO technology.
Consider the following scenarios to have a better understanding of what this technology can achieve. Allow LTPS to be utilized in the drive circuit to reduce drive current and voltage. They also discovered that by 2022, it will be a standard feature on flagship phones. With increasing LTPO production capacity, the technology is likely to exceed LTPS and become the standard configuration of high-end smartphones.
