During the presentation of the new Windows 11, one particular feature caught the attention of many of the presents and was having support for android applications on microsoftâs latest OS. This means users will be able to go through the Windows Store, or the Amazon App Store, to download and install android apps. The full functionality is still not there but members of the Insider program can try it out since late October 2021.
Microsoft announced the launch of the public beta for Android app support will start in February 2022.
Of course, this is not the only addition planned by Microsoft with the February update. It will also offer a few improvements to the taskbar such as the Weather widget will now be accessible there; while it will be possible to mute a call directly from this same bar. Window sharing will be simplified and, Notepad and the media player will benefit from a brand new design, redesigned for the occasion.
For now, Microsoft has not given an exact date for the deployment of this update. Also, the company confirmed that Windows 11 is entering its final phase of deployment. In other words, the free migration to the new OS is coming to an end soon.
