Several leaked details of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have now been confirmed.

Carphone Warehouse, a popular retailer, inadvertently posted by mistake entire marketing pages for both phones (Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro) on their Twitter pages.

The focus from Google on devices  Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will come in four main categories: their Tensor chip and performance, the cameras, the software experience, and security.

Google Tensor is the first chip from Google to power a smartphone, it is estimated it will be powerful, with an 80% faster performance. It also talks about the chip’s custom image processor and power efficiency skills, the extra layer of protection that will include a Titan M2 chip, and all the smarts for on-device AI. Google Tensor will make the Pixel 6 Pro the fastest Pixel ever created.

The cameras on both devices are headlined by 50MP main wide-angle and 12MP with ultra-wide lenses, with the Pixel 6 Pro also getting a 48MP telephoto shooter.

The main 50MP camera can capture 150% more light than the Pixel 5. The Pixel 6 Pro is getting a nice addition in the telephoto lens, thanks to 4x optical zoom and Super Res Zoom that zooms up to 20x.

As far as software features, Google is pitching the Magic Eraser tool to remove unwanted objects from photos after the fact, Face Unblur that will “deblur a face to make it sharper,” and “authentic, accurate” portraits. The Pixel 6 Pro will have a 94-degree field-of-view on its selfie camera too to “get everyone in the shot.”

The Pixel 6 line can indeed charge at a 30W pace, it can charge up to 50% battery in just 30 minutes. It is not that fast compared to other phones, but the batteries here are massive and all of Google’s other phones previously charged at snail paces.

The final and fourth area of focus for Google will be security. Their Google Tensor chip and the Titan M2 security chip onboard “make Pixel even more resilient to attacks.” We have a new security hub with all the phone’s security settings and controls in one place to control from mics to cameras, and up to 5 years of security updates.

By the way,  those four key areas aren’t the only features revealed. Here are a few other bits of info that was revealed.

Display: The Pixel 6 has a 6.4″ display and the Pixel 6 Pro has a 6.7″ display but with high refresh rates and variable 120Hz with LTPO on the Pixel 6 Pro. Each device has Gorilla Glass Invictus for protection and a high brightness mode for use in sunlight.

IP68: Yep, each phone is IP68 water and dust-resistant.

Google Translate: Google AI, offer translations using the camera and no internet. It can also do translations of live video captions and private chats and messages.

Android 12: Each device will launch with Android 12, the new interface, the wallpaper theming, and an updated At a Glance widget that’ll shore you more than ever.
