The Top 7 Free Music Download Apps for iOS and Android

Music downloads are beginning to seem like DVDs in the Netflix era now that the streaming generation has fully arrived. When you have your music stored locally on your smartphone, you don’t have to worry about the reliability of your Internet connection or finding ways to pass the time on a lengthy flight.

The convenience of having a music download app on their phone has made it the preferred method of obtaining music for many people. Please find below a selection of our preferred free music download apps for both Android and iOS.

  1. Audiomack- Compatibility: Web, iOS, and Android

You should try out Audiomack if you’re interested in supporting new artists in the Hip-Hop, Electronic, and Reggae scenes while also downloading music that doesn’t violate copyright rules.

This app serves as a showcase for independent musicians who may not have access to mainstream distribution channels. Additionally, it contains a filtering system to ensure that only high-quality information is available. T-Wayne, Fetty Wap, and Migos are just a few of the hip-hop acts that have found success because of this endeavor. It’s an opportunity to discover the next big thing in music.

Audiomack isn’t just accessible via mobile devices; it also works in desktop browsers. Only through the app on a mobile device can music be downloaded. In addition to being a recorder, Audiomack can also play local music files.

  1. Fildo – Compatibility: Android

Fildo can’t be downloaded from the likes of the Google Play Store like other apps. It’s only available for download in APK format from the official website. The app is currently only accessible for Android devices, but a Fildo Lite iOS version is in the works.

After installation, the app’s interface and functionality are intuitive. You may quickly peruse the app’s most popular results by using the main screen. On the other hand, you can utilize the search bar to locate certain tracks or albums.

After Fildo has located the desired track or album, you can listen to it by clicking on the cover image. You can save music to your device by tapping the three-dot menu next to it and choosing “Download.” Playlists and song lyrics can both be compiled within the app. The songs you choose to download will be stored in your device’s internal memory.

Fildo is full of advertisements, so if that’s not something you’re comfortable with, you may want to look elsewhere.

  1. Audials Play – compatibility with Android, iOS, Windows, and the Web.

When it comes to transferring songs to your mobile device, Audials Play uses a novel technique. The app serves as a centralized location from where you can access a wide variety of radio stations from which to obtain the music of your choice for offline listening. The Podcast feature is an added bonus.

Complete broadcasts can be captured with Audials Play, and the software will save the stream with automatic song separation. The app’s search function is useful if you’re looking to listen to music by a specific artist, as it will let you know which radio stations are playing their music right now. Your song is just a click away from being downloaded.

Your personal music library can be imported into Audials Play for playback without leaving the program.

  1. SONGily – Compatibility: Android

The free version of SONGily is supported by advertisements, but it nevertheless provides a large library of songs from a wide variety of genres and artists (from pop to traditional folk songs to sea chanteys). All of the music you find will come with playback and download controls. You can read the poetry that inspired the songs by tapping the app’s lyrics button, which takes you to the lyric page on SONGily.

Downloading SONGily from the Google Play Store will offer you an older version of the app that doesn’t support features like video downloading. If you’re ready to switch to the APK version, however, you’ll get all of those benefits, plus faster searching and the ability to initiate several downloads simultaneously.

  1.  YMusic – Compatibility: Android

One of the more polished and professional-looking music-downloading apps, YMusic lets you convert any YouTube video to an audio file and play it directly from your phone, even when other apps are open.

The killer feature is that you can also download videos in audio format. Downloads can be made in either M4A or MP3, and the app’s excellent library UI makes it easy to organize your tunes as you would with any standard music player. Music that you’ve downloaded on your phone will remain there until you delete them.

YMusic is currently working on a major interface revamp, and you can help out by tapping the hamburger menu in the top left corner and selecting “YMusic beta.”

  1. NewPipe – Compatibility: Android

When it comes to music download apps, NewPipe is another solid option. It’s free and continually being developed further because of its open-source nature. You can use NewPipe to look through the content of SoundCloud, MediaCCC, Bandcamp, and PeerTube, all of which can be downloaded directly from the app. As opposed to competing apps, it is not restricted to the YouTube platform.

The software launches to a YouTube interface by default. Find the video you wish to save to your device, then hit the download button (either a video or an audio file) under the clip. NewPipe also provides a wide range of “Downloads” configuration options. For instance, you can control the size of the download queue and select the destination of individual music downloads.

Select SoundCloud or Bandcamp by tapping the menu button in the upper left corner, then tapping the large red “NewPipe” icon.

  1. TubeMate – Compatibility: Android

TubeMate is a dedicated program that facilitates YouTube video downloads. A purely aural version is also provided, of course.

This software could be ideal for you if you listen to music only on YouTube. Alternatives exist, though, if variety is what you’re after.

TubeMate is available for download from the official website. (Google bans it from the Play Store, likely due to YouTube infringement.) You’ll be invited to download MP3 Video Converter alongside TubeMate if you want to convert videos to audio (M4A or MP3).

Quick and simple download! Simply navigate to the desired video and click the red download button that appears at the page’s footer.
